It is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful Saturday morning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the English language.
About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English Speech Contest. When I stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me.
While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speak in public. When my professor again encouraged me to take part in this Competition, I said "no." I couldn"t endure yet another painful experience. He looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I will never forget his words. "Look," he said, "We all have our fears, and you have yours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. A winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits."
I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then I made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my fears – and take part in the competition!
As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, once again standing before a microphone. My heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, I have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

Do the intentional work of keeping your thoughts positive. Because whatever you always think is where your life will surely and steadily go.

The show British Got Talented is very popular around the world, it is the original show. As it is so hot and many talented people have found their stages,its influence on other countries can’t be ignored. Last night, I saw an episode of a boy composing a song with his friend, it reminded the public of the issue of anti-bully in campus.
When the boy and his friend stood on the stage, he was so shy and he looked very nice. He told the audience that they would sing a song which was composed by himself and the judges were so looking forward to hearing it. As the boy sung, the audience sensed his miserable days in his childhood, he was bullied by the higher grade students. His friend sung the part of giving hope. The judges were so touched and they spoke highly of this inspring song.
There are always some big guys trying to control the situation, so they bully others. This behavior is condemned by the public. The one who plays the role of bad guy is actually always the one with weak heart. The movement of anti-bully in campus needs everybody to care for each other.

Psychologist tell us that stress is a state of worry caused by the problem of living , such as too much work or study , heavy responsibilities , and quickened pace of life .
Statistics show that stress comes from every detail in our life . Financial problems , poor health , being laid off may be the stress that most adults now suffering . As students in the university , we are also under our special stress . While study , having to take various tests and submit a project against a deadline may put a great pressure on us . And the things make us felt stressed may be our parents"s greater expectations on us than we could reach . Later , when we are likely to graduate , some other problems will also annoy us . I think we will worry a lot about our ability to compete in the job market and how we can best use what we"ve learned at college in our future job .
The chief problem we should face to is our atitude towards stress .People usually say they can not live in the sun except they escape from stress . It"s unwelcome ! Yes , however , very necessary . Just image a world where stress does not exist and people lead their life in a very comfortable way . But is this kind of living condition as perfect as we hope ? Without stress , they may feel very satisfied with the current life but lack of power to discover new things . Too much satisfaction result in nothing except a countermarch of the society . No stress , no development . So a certain amount of stress is good . It can stimulate us and increase our level of alertness .
And our answer to stress is another vital problem . How to do with ourselves when stress suddenly break into our life ? To wave the white flag and admit our unability , to give up to our ideality , or worstly , just to suicide as to put an end to everything. Of cause not . The principle is to tackle with stress gentlely and harmoniously. We should try our best to release ourselves . Such as to do some exercise , to linsen to traditional Chinese music or classical music to ease our minds and to learn to view these changes of life as challenges .It"s no use crying over spilt milk . Only to accept what has happened can solve the problem .

Once my grandma said that in the planned economy,everything has its own certificate,“New Dress” is only a desire and many children could only expect new clothes on Chinese New Year.When my grandmother put on new clothes on New Year’s Day,she would be quite satisfied and proud,because many children would come to appreciate it.At that time,new clothes are rare for common people.
Sixty years ago,it’s quite usual that a big family crowded in a small room.They put up a curtain separating the house into two parts,and sometimes there might be some mice.My grandma said they played only seated in bed and several children did their homework on a small table.But now,good conditions,most families not only have a nice house with a lot of furniture,but also have more than one house.

As we all know, the earth is a planet almost covered by water，and it is water made every thing on the earth lively.Water is also one of the important part of our environment.Though，is there really so much water for us to clean，to produce many things，to play with? how much water are there on the earth then?
Most of the water is in the oceans or locked away as ice.The largest volumes of fresh water are stored underground as groundwater，imagine there is only one barrel of water in the world，then there is only a spoon of it on the land，and the water we can use is only a drop of it.Now I have to remind all of you here that the single drop of water is never as Clean as before，it has been polluted severely by our human beings.
There is a very beautiful river in Paris.It is the Seine，it runs across the City，people drink coffee, chat on the bank in the day，at night，they enjoy the beautiful scenery in the boat，songs from the river fly into the Sky made the river more attractive, the Seine is a famous symbol of France;on the west coast of pacific ocean there lies the modern City Shanghai，another river which used to be a very important transportation route runs through the center of the city，people respected and regard it as"mother".It is the"suzhou river，but l believe that few of you would sit beside it，people will be scattered by the terrible smell of water when walk by.I have to say it is e_tremely dirty! And we all know that a lot of beautiful rivers in the world also are Sharing the same fate with suzhou river. Who is the devil? I can"t help asking.
Many human activities and their by-products have the potential to pollute water. Please have a look along the banks of the river, large and small industrial enterprises discharge dirty

Fortunately, the government has control the situation now, we are happy to see some parts of the river has become clean again, and we even can find fish sometime.
The unique earth is the only planet full of lives, the water is just like the blood in the active body, protecting water is saving ourselves. Not to waste a single drop of water, otherwise, the only drop of water we could keep in the future would be our tear!

Good morning,ladies and gentlemen,today i am so happy to stand here to give you a speech.Or rather, a real story of mine.
Though with time going by,i can still remember what you once told me.You should be a brave girl.Smiling,you looked into my eyes.Year in,year out,nearly most of my memories are fading little by little.But only this simple sentence remained,without being forgotten in my life.
Again and again,i can not stop myself from thinking about it.So ordinary,but so impressive,so moving,just like the brightest sunshine,it helps me go through the darkest night.I am such a sensitive girl in your heart.You said,my sorroful facial expression made feel so distersssed.However,there is one thing i never tell you,that is ,i am becoming a big girl gradually with your words and smiles.I never tell you about it,for i believe oneday,you can see the great changes of mine for yourself.That is what i want to do in return.As i know,that will be the best gift for you.
I suddenly think of a song named MY HEART WILL GO ON.There is a beautiful sentence going like this.You are safe in my heart.More than once,i was moved to tears by it.I know ,i am also safe in your heart.i have already forgotten when i told you i was going to leave for Australia this summer holiday.You just smiled as usual,gently speaking.Whatever you decide to do,i will be in favor of it,but, just onething,remember,when you fell lonely abroad,do not forget we are here ,praying for you.We are all around you,far across the distance and space between us.i closed my eyes,the flashback started.The memories we had together,once we played games on the palyground,we played jokes on each other,you always wrote a lot of sentences on my articles to encourage me.And the most unforgetable thing,you told me,you believed m i could be a big girl.Sooner or later.
At that specific moment,i suddenly understood the meaning of this sentence totally.So on that day,i smiled as you used to,looking at you.The last words i said were,keep walking in sunshine.
Yes,keep walking in sunshine.I said to you ,also to myself.I know i am not alone wiht your company,and we can keep walking in sunshine till the last minute of our days.

And see no end to the landscape, new objects presenting themselves as we advance; so, in the commencement of life, we set no bounds to our inclinations. nor to the unrestricted opportunities of gratifying them. we have as yet found no obstacle, no disposition to flag; and it seems that we can go on so forever. we look round in a new world, full of life, and motion, and ceaseleprogress; and feel in ourselves all the vigor and spirit to keep pace with it, and do not foresee from any present symptoms how we shall be left behind in the natural course of things, decline into old age, and drop into the grave. it is the simplicity, and as it were abstractedneof our feelings in youth, that (so to speak) identifies us with nature, and (our experience being slight and our passions strong) deludes us into a belief of being immortal like it. our short-lives connection with existence we fondly flatter ourselves, is an indissoluble and lasting union-a honeymoon that knows neither coldness, jar, nor separation. as infants smile and sleep, we are rocked in the cradle of our wayward fancies, and lulled into security by the roar of the universe around us0we quaff the cup of life with eager haste without draining it, instead of which it only overflows the more-objects prearound us, filling the mind with their magnitude and with the strong of desires that wait upon them, so that we have no room for the thoughts of death.
