“最中国”摄影大赛获奖及入围摄影师作品Our judges have decided: Here are the winners of our “Most China” photo competition, which received over 100 unique entries from photographers with a keen eye for what stands out in China. Entries were judged on originality, creative composition, and humanistic storytelling, reflecting our magazine’s values and our view of China itself.Our first winner, Yuan Yi from Fuzhou, Jiangxi province, presented a series of stunning photos from traditional festivals. She says of one photo shot in Inner Mongolia: “As I watched Mongolian men in traditional garb cracking their whip as they chased the camels through the desert, the dust rose up under the camels’ hoofs, and it was quite a shock.”

Our second winner, Julia Kittelmann from Shanghai, originally from Germany, says photography helped her with “making sense of [her] new surroundings” after moving to China. “I feel, I think through my camera,” she tells TWOC. Her series, “Pet Love,”highlighted unique bonds between people and their pets, a “beloved thing and status symbol” in Chinese society.We also showcase photos from our runners-up, Jimmy and Shen Ran, and our judges’ picks in six special categories: Jessica Chen (Best Human Touch), Sun Yongjie (Best Representation of Traditional Culture), Andrea Massignami (Best Attention to Detail), Peng Xianmin (Best Storytelling), Bo Chen (Best Action Photography), and Wei Yongguang (Best Representation of a Rural Subject).
